Heidelberg City operates ten administrative offices that can answer your questions and deal with any problems you may have. Matters related to building control and residential affairs are dealt with separately by the Technisches Bürgeramt. In the "Mitte" administrative office there is also an Election Services Office (Wahldienststelle), which provides information on upcoming elections. A large number of forms and services are now also available 24/7 online.

Easy to contact. Under a single, central telephone number – +49 6221 58-10580 – or 115 – the standard number for contacting any municipal authority – the City of Heidelberg can be contacted Monday through Friday from 8.00 to 18.00 to answer questions about its services or those of state and national authorities. If necessary, you will be put through directly to the right person. For urgent requests or in an emergency, the number +49 6221 58-10580 is even available after 18.00 as well as on weekends and public holidays.

Your opinion is appreciated – which is why the Complaints and Suggestions Department (Ideen- und Beschwerdemanagement) of the City of Heidelberg is happy to receive any complaints or criticisms you may have – as well as ideas, suggestions or praise. All matters are dealt with quickly and unbureaucratically. And we even have the situation covered if the problem turns out to be the city authorities themselves: a neutral ombudsman is there to deal with such cases.
