In Heidelberg Technology Park, many businesses develop modern solutions in the field of renewable energy or research cancer medicine, a significant ecological and societal contribution. Additionally, many innovative products are developed in the fields of biotechnology, medical technology, as well as information and communication techology, environmental economy, and environmental engineering.

High-tech industry and pioneering research. Since its founding in 1984, the park has developed into an important driving force for science and economy. Heidelberg Technology Park works with numerous German and international research bodies including the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL)the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) and the Zentrum für Molekulare Biologie (ZMBH). Other partners of the Technology Park that likewise contribute to Heidelberg's high standing throughout Germany include Heidelberg University Biochemistry Center (BZH) and the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research.  

Strong partners. The Technology Park offers ideal conditions for knowledge transfer and sharing between researchers and practitioners in science and business. Several top international companies such as BASF, Merck and Roche Diagnostics conduct their research here. The Technology Park Heidelberg cooperates with an abundance of local institutions, research institutions, businesses, and political institutions.  Most of Heidelberg's research institutions are associated members of the Technology Park. In 2019, the Technology Park opened its most recent location at the Heidelberg Innovation Park
