Around 140,000 people live in Heidelberg. Most of them have something positive to say if you ask them how they feel about living here: Nine out of ten Heidelberg residents feel particularly at ease in their city and two thirds even feel closely attached to Heidelberg.

Heidelberg politics is aimed at strengthening the attachment of the Heidelberg citizens to their city: through genuine transparency, comprehensive information, need-oriented support, citizen-friendly services and various forms of involvement in decisions and participation – for all groups within population.
