District Advisory Councils

Each one of the 13 Heidelberg city districts has a District Advisory Council. Its task is to advise the City Council and Administration on important matters concerning the city district. The District Advisory Councils are appointed by the City Council following each local government election. These bodies comprise between 10 and 18 persons according to the size of the city district.

The meetings of the District Advisory Councils are held in the city districts. The dates of these meetings and the agendas are published in the press well before each meeting. In addition to this, they can be seen (in German) from the information system for citizens provided by the City of Heidelberg on the Internet.

The Mayor’s Office, Meetings Section, provides support for the District Advisory Councils.
