Modifications due to changes in the concept

The results of the national accounts (Volkswirtschaftliche Gesamtrechnung - VGR) are generally revised every five to ten years in order to introduce new concepts, implement methodological improvements and exploit new data sources. In 2011, another review took place, aimed above all at the changeover of the national accounts to the new Classification of Economic Activities, version 2008 (ES 2008). At the district level, audit results have so far been published only for the report years of 2008 to 2010. Retroactive accounting for 1991 to 2007 is still pending. As a matter of principle the revised data are comparable to a limited extent only.
