Five departments,
one common goal
The political leadership of the City of Heidelberg is in the hands of the Mayor Eckart Würzner and four full-time Deputy Mayors. The City Administration is divided into five departments, each headed by one of the mayors.
Department I
Eckart Würzner has been Mayor of the City of Heidelberg since 14th December 2006. He was re-elected for a further eight years on 19th October 2014. The Mayor is head of the City Administration and at the same time Chairman of the City Council.
Department II
First Deputy Mayor Jürgen Odszuck is the Mayor’s chief representative, and at the same time is responsible for Urban Development and Building.
Department III
Deputy Mayor Raoul Schmidt-Lamontain is responsible for Climate protection, Environment and Mobility.
Department IV
Deputy Mayor Stefanie Jansen is responsible for Social Welfare, Education, Family and Euqal Opportunities.
Department V
Deputy Mayor Martina Pfister is responsible for Culture, Citizens’ Services and Creative Industries.
